Only Islam can fulfil the duty towards refugees

Waseem Abu Ilyas The mass movement of people across Europe has been described in the last week as the biggest refugee crisis to hit Europe since World War II. Thousands of refugees are now crisscrossing the continent looking for sanctuary from their war torn and broken lives. The European attitude has been to the refugees to travel as far away from their own country as possible and explain away the thousands camping at “The Jungle” in Calais as those looking for an easy benefit driven life in the UK.  There has been little or no acknowledgement that the vast majority now traveling across nations are fleeing war and persec

Obituary for Abdullah Michael Vivash

Abdullah Michael Vivash returned to his Lord Allah (swt) on Thursday 3rd September 2015. He lived a life which was extraordinary and inspired many around him with his courage and devotion to Islam. He was born in Australia, fought in the Vietnam war and even became a professional boxer, however he never achieved tranquility and bore witness to the problems endemic in Western societies. It was only after his conversion to Islam that he found true peace and tranquility. He used his journey to Islam to inspire thousands of Muslims and he reminded them of the importance of re-establishing the Khilafah Rashida as a true beacon of justice and tranquility for mankind. His life will remain and inspiration even after his passing. May Allah (swt) grant him the highest abode in Jannah and forgive his shortcomings and raise him with the pious on the day of Judgement. Ameen. “Verily, in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find rest”  (TMQ 13:28)
